Ondria Gaddy

A Bit About Ondria

Ondria Gaddy (82), passed away at 8:45 a. m. on Friday, November 27, 2020, at The Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina.

The sixth child of the late Luvenia and Celmer Gaddy, he was born July 14, 1938 in Wake County (NC).

When he was 17 years of age, after a summer visit with his older sister (Dorothy)

(And her husband) who lived in Harlem (NYC) Ondria migrated.

During this time of his life as he was growing into manhood he also had to adapt to new ways of life. 

This would happen each time he made a move. 

After a short while with his sister in Harlem, he decided to try New Haven, Connecticut, with his brother Huey.

After Connecticut he moved for a few years to Washington, DC where his brother Dolphus resided. When he left DC he moved to Brooklyn, NY.  where his mother and father had migrated to from Wake County, North Carolina. 

When he was 27 years of age, he married his first wife (Marcellus) of whom he was married to for 40 years, until her passing in 2006.

WE met in May of 2010. That December we got engaged and married the following year on his birthday, July 14, 2011. 

​

We had ten beautiful, beautiful years together.
